Wind warning issued for:
   North Vancouver Island, B.C. (081200)
   Central Coast – coastal sections, B.C. (082100)

Current details:
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Where: Northern Vancouver Island, Central Coast – coastal sections, Haida Gwaii.

When: Tuesday.

Hazards: Very strong southeasterly winds of 90 km/h gusting 110.

Impacts: Localized power outages.

Remarks: A potent fall storm will approach the BC coastline overnight tonight. Southeasterly winds will reach speeds of 90 km/h gusting 110 over exposed areas of the coastline.

Winds will ease over Haida Gwaii late Tuesday afternoon, but persist through until Tuesday evening for the Central Coast and northern Vancouver Island.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
