Weather Advisory: Wet Snow

Event Type: Wet Snow Event

A low-pressure system is anticipated to impact the Northern-Vancouver Island Service area over the next 24-48 hours. As it draws in cold air, snow levels will fall across the South Coast. Combined with precipitation, snow levels will drop to 250 metres: higher elevations of Highway 28 between Gold River and Campbell River and Highway 19 between Port Hardy and Campbell River are anticipated to see snow.
Accumulations will vary depending on the level of precipitation and could make travel difficult and reduce visibility, before heading out prepare for winter driving conditions.

Mainroad crews will be patrolling all service are highways and applying winter materials where appropriate until the event passes, roadways are clear and back to normal.
